It all began in the summer of 2020, when Chris decided to quarantine in Massachusetts. He thought it would be a short stay—but New England (and fate) had other plans.
That summer, a mutual friend introduced Chris and Stephanie. Sparks flew… but not with everyone. Marley, Stephanie’s fiercely loyal cat, was immediately suspicious and launched a full-scale psychological warfare campaign against Chris. It was fluffy. It was stealthy. It was personal.
Despite Marley’s efforts, Chris and Stephanie hit it off. Sunrise at Castle Rock turned into sunset strolls & sea glass hunts, with beach days and Boston adventures in between.
They made it official and took on 4½ years of long distance—living out of suitcases, logging highway miles, and squeezing in every moment they could.
One day, Chris suggested a trip back to Castle Rock. Stephanie didn’t need convincing—it was their place. As the sun shined over the ocean, Chris proposed where they used to sit and watch the waves roll in.
Marley has since agreed to a peaceful coexistence… but still keeps one eye open. It’s a work in progress.
